Metal Zippers for Sewing

Metal zippers were created to meet the need for zippers with high resistance to abrasion and tearing, these metal zippers are seen on jeans, purses, etc. These metal zippers, as one of the oldest and most popular zippers, can be kept closed without deformation under any circumstances. They can be made of a variety of metals, including brass, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel. Those stronger materials also necessitate their use in fastening thicker fabrics.

Metal zippers add an elegant and luxurious touch to your products. The polishing smoothes out the metal teeth, removing any sharp edges, and the plating allows the zipper to be available in a variety of colors. All of these processes combine to make these metal zippers more than just fasteners, but also decorative tools. We offer zippers in five different styles: close-end zippers, X-type zippers, O-type zippers, open-end zippers, and two-way open-end zippers.

Closed-end zippers are commonly used for jeans, pants, dresses, shoes, purses, handbags, luggage, pockets, tents, and any other application that requires a single slider, the one-way closed-end zipper.

X-type zippers

Two sliders are located on opposite ends of the x-type zipper. These zippers can be opened by bringing the sliders closer together, but they cannot be separated. This style of zipper is commonly found on household textiles and luggage.

X type metal zippers 05

O-type zipper

When the zipper is closed, two sliders are located in the center of the chain. This zipper is most commonly found on bags, backpacks, and luggage.

O type metal zippers 02

Open-end zippers

This type of zipper allows the zipper to be separated at the end, necessitating the use of an insert pin and box assembly. These zippers are commonly used in applications where the zipper’s two halves must be completely separated, such as jackets and hoodies.

Q1: How do you clean metal zippers?

A1: Please refer to the following methods.

  1. Please zip up the zipper and fix the slider when cleaning (otherwise the slider will scratch the fabric)
